Tell us about your creative career.
I was keen on embroidery even back in the institute. My profession is engineer-artist. I have graduated from the Moscow Academy of Instrument Engineering and Computer Science, majoring in "Artistic casting and enameling". My first embroidery was made on patterns from magazines. Then I had developed two large embroideries by myself based on paintings of M. Dobuzhinsky. These works made me the winner of the 2nd All-Russian exhibition-competition "Embroidered picture". I started professional development of kits and patterns for embroidery in 1999. Most of all I like to do embroidery on the eastern and ethnic themes. My designs also include a lot of still-life paintings, flowers, animals and landscapes. I believe that a professional designer should not be afraid to take on the work of any complexity and theme. In my works I use both crosses and half-crosses in a different number of threads, contoured stitch, beads.
How did you start your collaboration with PANNA®?
I began to cooperate with PANNA® at the time of my resolute desire to change something in my life. I wanted to devote more time for creativity, rather than sit out a working day in a stuffy office.
What do you have in mind to please the fans of PANNA® kits?
I am currently working on a new series of embroidery in the style of feng shui. I want to develop a series of urban landscapes. The most ambitious plan is to make a series of Zodiac Signs with naked girls. I hope to finish all 12 ones before retirement (laughs).
Which of the works for PANNA® do you consider the most successful?
There are a lot of successful works already. I can’t even name them all. Most of all I like series with the hieroglyphs and kits with the village houses.
What tips and recommendations can you give to all those who like to embroider?
I don’t want to give advices; I just want to wish every craftswoman more interesting and exciting storylines for embroidery; and that your family and your loved ones will always support you in your embroidery hobby.
