Tell us about your creative career.

From early childhood I loved to draw and do something with hands: I sewed different animals, made carpets-collages of fabrics and colored paper, dolls with heads made of cork or papier-mache (this hobby was later realized in Moscow Puppet Theater, where I had a chance to work as a student), and later - mini-tapestry, batik. I started to design embroidered pictures to my surprise: I loved a vintage beadwork in one of the old issues of the Estonian Handiwork Journal: it was a ruddy-faced Neapolitan with the guitar. I decided to put it into "crosses" - to make the embroidery pattern. I worked on it for a month, but the result was really inspiring. This was followed by another work - "Young Woman with a Jar" by one of my favorite artists Johannes Vermeer, and so the past five years took me doing this wonderful thing – design of embroidered paintings. The first works were miniatures with animals, and then I moved to a more complex design with lots of colors. Basically I work in the "counted cross" technique, and I also use different types of embroidery stitches. The range of topics is rather wide: portraits, landscapes, still life paintings, thematic compositions. My passion is painting the compositions with animals and birds.

How did you start your collaboration with PANNA®?

Fellow designers once told me about the new company, the manufacturer of embroidery kits, which works with the materials, produced within the country, and actively collaborates with the artists, and offered my sketches. My first work in PANNA® is "Hunting scenes" series.

What do you have in mind to please the fans of PANNA® kits?

Now I’m working on a series "Russian cities", there are many other ideas.

Which of the works for PANNA® do you consider the most successful?

All works are made with love, but, in my opinion, the most successful are «Greyhounds», as well as «Winter Suzdal» и «Leopard».

What tips and recommendations can you give to all those who like to embroider?

  • Do not neglect the decent decoration of the embroidered works!
  • One very handy thing is "phantom" pencil used to mark a grid on the canvas, which makes the work significantly faster and easier.

How would you describe PANNA® kits?

Huge selection of storylines for every taste, great canvas, inexpensive hardly twisted high-quality mouline thread, and affordable prices.
